           Medical or Medical Attendant Visa

Eligibility

Medical Visa is meant for those foreigners whose sole objective of visit to India is to seek medical treatment in established/recognised/specialised Hospital/Treatment Centres in India for serious ailments.

Medical Attendant Visa is granted to the attendant / family members of the patient coming to India for medical treatment. This visa is co-terminus with Medical Visa of the patient.

A maximum of two persons (Attendant and family members of the patient) are allowed to apply for this visa. The applicant is required to produce a letter from established / recognised / specialised Hospital / Treatment Centres in India confirming that assistance is required by the patient on Medical Visa with the Medical Attendant’s name included in the said letter.

*Applicants of Pakistani origin are requested to see this link before applying for an Indian visa.

Documents Required

  • Duly filled up and printed copy of the Online Application Form (click here).
  • Valid Canadian/Foreign passport* (Original and Copy)
  • Proof of Address
  • Photograph (link)
  • Surrender Certificate (mandatory only for Indian origin foreign nationals)
  • Medical invitation letter from the hospital
  • Copies of medical reports / documents regarding treatment
  • Documents establishing adequate financial standing for expenditure on treatment and travel in India
  • Fee (For Canadian nationals link) (For non-Canadian nationals link)

Additional documents for Minor Visa application

  • Minor Consent form
  • Birth Certificate
  • Passport copies of both the parents
  • For child having single parent-enclose copy of child custody order from court (having sole custody of the child with the parent applying for visa) / Death Certificate, etc. as the case maybe.
